Harold Whitfield (20 June 1934 – 16 July 2017) was an English first-class cricketer who played for Yorkshire County Cricket Club from 1954 to 1964. A right-handed batsman, he was a consistent run-scorer for the county during one of its most successful periods.
Early Life and Career
Born in Kirkby, Lancashire, Whitfield began his cricket career with Yorkshire, making his first-class debut in 1954. He gradually established himself in a strong Yorkshire batting line-up, becoming a regular feature in the team throughout the late 1950s and early 1960s.Playing Style and Achievements
Whitfield was known for his solid technique and ability to occupy the crease. While primarily a batsman, he was also an occasional right-arm medium-fast bowler.
