Harm's Way is an extended play (EP) by American rock band The Early November, released on March 18, 2003, through Drive-Thru Records. It was the band's second EP, following The Acoustic EP (2002), and served as a precursor to their debut full-length album, The Room's Too Cold, released later the same year.

Background and Recording

The Early November formed in 2001 and quickly gained traction in the burgeoning emo and pop-punk scenes. After signing with Drive-Thru Records, they released The Acoustic EP in 2002, which showcased their melodic songwriting style. Harm's Way was recorded in 2002, with Chrissy Tashjian and Steve "The King" Asper co-producing alongside the band. It featured a more developed sound compared to their earlier demo recordings, blending emotional lyrics with driving guitars and dynamic song structures.

Release and Reception

Harm's Way was released digitally and on CD. It was well-received by fans and critics within the emo and pop-punk communities, further solidifying The Early November's reputation. The EP helped to build anticipation for their full-length debut, The Room's Too Cold, which would establish them as a prominent act in the scene. The songs on Harm's Way are often noted for their introspective lyrics and raw emotional delivery, characteristic of the band's early work.
