Harlingerode is a district (Stadtteil) of the town of Bad Harzburg, located in the district of Goslar in the state of Lower Saxony, Germany. The district lies on the northern edge of the Harz mountain range, approximately 3 kilometres north‑west of Bad Harzburg’s historic centre.

Harlingerode is situated within the Harz‑Foreland region, characterized by a mixture of low‑lying agricultural land and the forested slopes of the Harz. The local landscape includes the Harz‑Harlingerode railway line, which historically connected the settlement to larger transport networks.
History
The earliest documented reference to Harlingerode dates to the early Middle Ages, with the name deriving from a personal name “Harlin” combined with the Old High German suffix “‑rode,” meaning a cleared settlement. Throughout the medieval period, Harlingerode was part of the Duchy of Brunswick‑Lüneburg.
From the late 19th century until the mid‑20th century, Harlingerode developed as a mining community, focusing on the extraction of iron ore from the Harz deposits. The Harlingerode iron ore mine (Erzbergwerk Harlingerode) operated under various ownerships, contributing to regional industrialisation. Mining activities largely ceased in the 1970s, after which the local economy shifted toward service sectors and residential development.
In 1972, Harlingerode was incorporated into the town of Bad Harzburg as part of a municipal reform in Lower Saxony.
