HD 63513 is notable for hosting at least one confirmed exoplanet, designated HD 63513 b. This exoplanet is a hot Jupiter, a type of gas giant planet that orbits very close to its host star. HD 63513 b was discovered through the radial velocity method, which detects the wobble of a star caused by the gravitational pull of an orbiting planet.
