Guru Kashi College is a constituent college of Punjabi University, located in Talwandi Sabo, Punjab, India. Established in 1964 by Sant Fateh Singh, the institution is one of the oldest colleges offering arts and science education in the Malwa region of Punjab. The college provides undergraduate and postgraduate programmes across disciplines such as sciences, humanities, social sciences, computer science, and commerce.
History
The college was founded in 1964 and named after “Guru Kashi,” a term referring to the site’s historic association with the 10th Sikh Guru, Guru Gobind Singh, who is said to have blessed the land as a centre of learning. Management of the college was transferred to Punjabi University on 20 December 1995, and it attained the status of a constituent college of the university in 2001. In November 2016, a new teaching block was constructed by the Bathinda Development Authority and handed over to the college.
