Gualjaina

Gualjaina is a rural village and municipality located in the Cushamen Department of Chubut Province, Argentina. Situated in the Patagonian region, it lies on the foothills of the Andes mountain range, specifically near the Cholila valley. Its geographical coordinates are approximately 42°27′S 70°41′W.

Geography and Climate Gualjaina is part of the Andean region of Chubut, characterized by a transition from the semi-arid Patagonian steppe to more humid, mountainous landscapes. The area experiences a cold semi-arid climate (BSk under the Köppen climate classification), with cold winters and mild summers. Precipitation is higher than in the eastern steppe, supporting some agriculture and livestock. The village is situated on National Route 40, a significant north-south highway that traverses Argentina.
