Greg Johnson (born March 16, 1971, North Bay, Ontario, Canada; died July 19, 2019, Florida, USA) was a Canadian professional ice hockey player who played in the National Hockey League (NHL) from 1993 to 2006.
Johnson was drafted by the Philadelphia Flyers in the second round (35th overall) of the 1989 NHL Entry Draft. He played for several NHL teams including the Flyers, Detroit Red Wings, Pittsburgh Penguins, Chicago Blackhawks, and Nashville Predators.
Johnson was known as a versatile player, capable of playing both center and wing, and was valued for his strong defensive play and penalty killing abilities. He contributed offensively as well, though was primarily a defensive specialist.
During his NHL career, Johnson played in 785 regular season games, scoring 145 goals and 214 assists for a total of 359 points. He also played in 60 playoff games, recording 6 goals and 7 assists.
Johnson retired from professional hockey in 2006. After his playing career, he remained involved in the sport, working as a coach. His death in 2019 was ruled a suicide.
