Google Travel is a trip-planning service developed by Google. Launched in May 2019, the platform serves as a centralized hub for travel-related research, booking, and itinerary management. It integrates several of Google’s existing travel tools, including Google Flights and Google Hotels, into a unified web interface.
The service provides users with tools to search for transportation and accommodations. It aggregates data on flight prices, hotel availability, and vacation rentals, allowing users to compare options and redirect to third-party booking sites. Google Travel also features a "Explore" tool that suggests destinations based on user preferences, such as budget, travel dates, and interests.
A core component of Google Travel is its itinerary organization. For users with a Google Account, the service can automatically extract travel-related information—such as flight confirmations, hotel reservations, and car rental details—from synchronized Gmail accounts. These details are compiled into a chronological timeline accessible via the web or through Google Maps.
The platform replaced the Google Trips mobile application, which was discontinued in August 2019. While the standalone app was phased out, its primary features, including offline access to travel documents and localized suggestions for sightseeing, were transitioned into Google Travel and integrated directly into Google Search and Google Maps.
