Golab-e Bala

Golab-e Bala (Persian: گلاب بالا, also romanized as Golāb-e Bālā) is a village in Bala Velayat Rural District, in the Central District of Kashmar County, Razavi Khorasan Province, Iran.

  • Geographic Location: The village is located in the eastern part of Iran, within Razavi Khorasan Province, one of the country's largest and most populous provinces.
  • Administrative Division: Golab-e Bala falls under the jurisdiction of Kashmar County, a subdivision of Razavi Khorasan Province. Specifically, it is part of the Central District of Kashmar County and is administered as a part of the Bala Velayat Rural District.
  • Demographics: As per the 2006 census conducted by the Statistical Center of Iran, the village had a population of 472 inhabitants, comprising 137 families. The population figures reflect the modest size characteristic of many rural settlements in the region.
  • Etymology: The name "Golab" (گلاب) translates to "rosewater" in Persian, while "Bala" (بالا) means "upper" or "high." Therefore, "Golab-e Bala" could be interpreted as "Upper Rosewater" or "Rosewater from Above," possibly indicating a historical association with rose cultivation, the production of rosewater, or its geographical elevation relative to another "Golab" settlement (though the latter is not confirmed).
