Goginan is a small village situated in the county of Ceredigion, Wales. It is located approximately 7 miles (11 km) east of the coastal town of Aberystwyth, on the A44 road.
Historically, Goginan was a mining community, particularly known for lead mining in the surrounding areas. The legacy of this industry can still be seen in the landscape and some remaining structures. Like many villages in rural Wales, Goginan has experienced changes over time, transitioning from an industrial base to a more residential and agricultural focus.
The village features a few local amenities typical of a Welsh hamlet, including a public house and a chapel, serving as focal points for the community. The economy is primarily agricultural, with tourism also contributing due to its proximity to the Cambrian Mountains and the Welsh coast. The area is popular for outdoor activities such such as walking and cycling.
