Georges Corbel (1920–1990) was a French anthropologist and prehistorian. He served as a Director of Research at the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) and was associated with the Musée de l'Homme in Paris.
His primary research focused on the physical anthropology and prehistory of North Africa, particularly the Sahara region. He conducted extensive fieldwork regarding the peopling of the Sahara, studying skeletal remains and cultural artifacts to analyze the biological and cultural history of its ancient populations.
Notable publications include Le Sahara et ses populations (1984), which synthesizes archaeological and anthropological data on the region's inhabitants from prehistoric times to the modern era. His work contributed significantly to the understanding of human adaptation and migration patterns in arid environments.
