George Samuel Perrottet (24 February 1793 – 13 June 1870) was a French naturalist, botanist, and explorer notable for his botanical collections in West Africa and the Caribbean during the early 19th century. His work contributed to the documentation of numerous plant species, several of which bear his name in the scientific epithets perrottetii and the genus Perrottetia.

Career and Expeditions
- Joined the French Navy as a medical officer, which provided opportunities for scientific observation during voyages.

- From 1822 to 1825, served as naturalist on the French naval expedition to the Caribbean, particularly in Martinique, Guadeloupe, and Saint‑Domingue (present‑day Haiti), where he amassed extensive botanical collections.
- Later appointed as a professor of natural history at the École d’Infectiologie in Paris, where he taught and curated collections.
Contributions to Botany
- Described and collected numerous tropical plant species, many of which were later incorporated into European herbaria, including the Muséum national d’Histoire naturelle in Paris.
