George Horne (politician)

George Horne (dates unknown) was a Scottish politician who served as Provost of Edinburgh from 1689 to 1690. His tenure coincided with a period of significant political upheaval following the Glorious Revolution. Horne succeeded Sir John Hall of Dunglass and preceded Sir James Rochead of Inverleith in the position. Relatively little biographical information beyond his provostship is readily available. Further research is needed to establish a comprehensive account of his life and political activities. His contributions to the city of Edinburgh during his time as Provost also warrant further investigation.
