George F. Hernandez (1863–1922) was an American silent film actor who appeared in character roles in 67 films between 1910 and 1922, following a career as a stage actor. He was born on June 6, 1863, in Placerville, California, and educated in Oakland. He made his stage debut in 1888 at the California Theatre in San Francisco. He later joined the J.K. Emmet company, touring the United States and Canada, and performed as a traveling Shakespearean actor with the Janet Waldorf Company from 1897 to 1899. Hernandez became a member of the William Nicholas Selig stock company, which pioneered filmmaking in Southern California. His first film, The Sanitarium, was released in 1910. He died on December 31, 1922, in Los Angeles due to complications after surgery. He was married to actress Anna Dodge.
