George Borwick (politician)

George Borwick (born 20 August 1966) is a British businessman and politician. He served as a Conservative Party Member of Parliament (MP) for Kensington from 2015 to 2017.

Born and raised in London, Borwick was educated at Harrow School. Before entering politics, he worked in the family business, Borwick's baking powder, and later in property development.

Borwick was elected as a Kensington and Chelsea Councillor in 2006, serving until 2015. He was selected as the Conservative candidate for Kensington following the retirement of Sir Malcolm Rifkind.

In the 2015 general election, Borwick won the Kensington seat with a majority of over 7,000 votes. During his time in Parliament, he served on the Environmental Audit Committee.

Borwick lost his seat in the 2017 general election to Labour's Emma Dent Coad. The result was a surprise, as Kensington had been a Conservative stronghold for decades. The result was extremely close and went to several recounts.

After losing his seat, Borwick has largely remained out of the public eye.
