Georg Schneider (born 19 May 1959) is a German former professional footballer who primarily played as a defender or midfielder. He spent his career in the Bundesliga and 2. Bundesliga, notably with FC 08 Homburg and 1. FC Saarbrücken.
Career
Schneider began his professional football career in the late 1970s. He joined FC 08 Homburg, where he quickly became a key player known for his versatility, being able to perform effectively in both defensive and midfield roles. During his tenure with Homburg, he was part of the team that achieved promotion to the Bundesliga, Germany's top-flight football league.Following his time at FC 08 Homburg, Schneider moved to 1. FC Saarbrücken. He continued to be a consistent performer for Saarbrücken in the 2. Bundesliga and subsequently featured in their Bundesliga seasons.
