Genetikk is a German hip-hop duo from Saarbrücken, Germany, consisting of the rapper Karuzo and the producer Sikk. They are known for their distinctive musical style, often incorporating dark and melancholic sounds with complex lyrical themes, and for initially maintaining a degree of anonymity, often appearing masked in public and in their early music videos.
History Genetikk formed in the early 2000s, with Karuzo and Sikk producing music independently before gaining wider recognition. They signed with the German hip-hop label Selfmade Records in 2011. Their breakthrough came with the release of their album Voodoozirkus in 2012, which garnered critical acclaim and commercial success. Subsequent albums, particularly D.N.A. (2013) and Achter Tag (2015), further cemented their status in the German hip-hop scene, both reaching the top of the German album charts. In 2018, Genetikk left Selfmade Records to found their own label, "Outta This World" (OTW).
