Garkhakot (Nepali: गर्खाकोट) is a former village development committee in Jajarkot District, located in the Karnali Province of Nepal.
Overview
Garkhakot is situated at coordinates 28°53′N 82°02′E, at an elevation of approximately 1,595 meters (5,233 feet) in a subtropical highland climate zone. It was historically part of the Bheri Zone before Nepal's administrative restructuring.
Demographics
According to the 1991 Nepal census, Garkhakot had a population of 3,933 people living in 750 individual households.
Administrative Status
Garkhakot was formerly classified as a village development committee (VDC), a type of administrative division that was the lower-level administrative unit in Nepal prior to the country's transition to a federal system. It is now part of the broader administrative framework of Jajarkot District within Karnali Province.
