Gale Mastrofrancesco (born October 25, 1960) is an American politician serving as a member of the Connecticut House of Representatives. A Republican, she represents the 80th district, which includes parts of Wolcott and Southington, a position she has held since assuming office on January 9, 2019.
Political career
Mastrofrancesco was first elected to the Connecticut General Assembly in the November 2018 election. In the House, she serves as the ranking member of the Government Administration and Elections Committee and also sits on the Human Services Committee and the Children’s Committee. She has previously served on the Finance Committee and the Appropriations Committee, and is a member of the Connecticut General Assembly Conservative Caucus.
Prior to her state legislative service, Mastrofrancesco spent ten years on the Wolcott Town Council, including eight years as vice‑chairwoman. During her council tenure she chaired the town’s negotiations committee and served on its finance committee.
Professional background
Before entering politics, Mastrofrancesco worked for AT&T Advertising for 18 years in roles ranging from sales representative to sales manager and trainer. She later held the position of Director of Community Relations at Benchmark Senior Living’s Village at Kensington Place in Meriden. In 2019 she became owner and editor of Wolcott Community News, a local newspaper.
Personal life
Mastrofrancesco was raised in Waterbury, Connecticut, the daughter of the late Charles and Marie Lanza. She has five siblings. In 1996 she moved to Wolcott with her husband, Angelo Mastrofrancesco; the couple have two children.
Recognition
She has received the Outstanding Leadership Award from the Connecticut Home Care Association and an award for Conservative Excellence presented by the American Conservative Union Foundation at CPAC.
