Gabe Vincent

Gabriel Nnamdi Vincent (born June 14 1996) is a Nigerian‑American professional basketball player who plays as a point guard for the Atlanta Hawks of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He is also a member of the Nigeria men’s national basketball team.

Early life and education

Vincent was born in Modesto, California, to Franklyn Vincent, a Nigerian, and Cynthia Vincent, an American from Connecticut; both parents hold doctorates in psychology. He is the youngest of three brothers. Vincent attended St. Mary’s High School in Stockton, California, where he played high school basketball.

College career

From 2014 to 2018, Vincent played college basketball for the University of California, Santa Barbara (UCSB) Gauchos. Over 113 games he averaged 12.8 points per contest and was named to the All‑Big West Second Team in 2018.

Professional career

  • 2018–2020: Stockton Kings (NBA G League) – After going undrafted in the 2018 NBA draft, Vincent signed an Exhibit 10 contract with the Sacramento Kings but was waived before the season. He joined the Stockton Kings, the G League affiliate of Sacramento, appearing in 24 games (three starts) during the 2018–19 season and averaging 8.8 points in 18.6 minutes per game.

  • 2020–2023: Miami Heat – Vincent signed a two‑way contract with the Miami Heat in 2020, splitting time between the Heat and their G League affiliate, the Sioux Falls Skyforce. He contributed to Miami’s runs to the NBA Finals in 2020 and 2023.

  • 2023–present: Atlanta Hawks – In 2023, Vincent signed with the Atlanta Hawks, where he continues to play as a guard.

Vincent earned the NBA G League Most Improved Player award in 2020 and was part of the NBA Cup‑winning team in the 2023 In‑Season Tournament.

National team career

Vincent represents Nigeria internationally and has competed for the Nigerian men’s national basketball team in various FIBA competitions.
