The GWF Light Heavyweight Championship was a professional wrestling championship in the Global Wrestling Federation (GWF), a promotion based in Dallas, Texas, that operated from 1991 to 1994. The title was designated for wrestlers competing in the light heavyweight division, typically with a weight limit of 231 lbs (105 kg).
History
The championship was established on July 26, 1991, when Steven Dane defeated Chaz Taylor in a tournament final to become the inaugural champion. The title was actively defended on GWF television tapings (aired on ESPN) and at live events until the promotion ceased operations in September 1994.
The final recognized champion was Eddie Guerrero, who held the title when the GWF closed. The championship was subsequently abandoned.
