Günter Schulz (13 September 1928 – 22 April 2011) was a German footballer who played primarily as a midfielder. He is best known for his career in East German football during the post-war era.
Born in Berlin, Schulz began his senior career in the late 1940s. He played for SG Oberschöneweide, which later became SC Union Oberschöneweide (and eventually 1. FC Union Berlin). He was a key player for the club during its early years in the top flight of East German football, the DDR-Oberliga.
Schulz was known for his robust playing style, leadership on the field, and consistent performances. His career spanned a significant period of transition in German football, playing through the establishment of separate football leagues in East and West Germany.
