Friula

Friula is a less common spelling variation of Friulan. Friulan (also known as Furlan) is a Romance language belonging to the Rhaeto-Romance subgroup, spoken primarily in the Friuli region of northeastern Italy. It is closely related to Ladin and Romansh. The alternative spelling "Friula" appears occasionally but is generally considered non-standard. The term "Friula" might also, on rare occasions, be encountered as a modified word stemming from Friuli or Friulan used adjectivally to describe something from or pertaining to the Friuli region. However, its usage is significantly less prevalent than "Friulan."
