Fresh, Fried and Crispy is an American food reality television series hosted by American food critic and YouTube personality Daym Drops. The series premiered on Netflix on June 9, 2021.
Overview
The show follows Daym Drops as he travels across the United States visiting local restaurants and food spots to sample a variety of fried dishes. Each episode is set in a different American city, where Drops explores the local food scene and highlights unique fried offerings.
Episodes
The first season consists of eight episodes, each set in a different city:
- "St. Louis" – Features arancini at Zia's, fried apple pie and mock chicken burger at SweetArt, and toasted ravioli, fried venison steak, and bologna sandwich at Grace Meat + Three.
- "Savannah" – Includes a shrimp po' boy at Hudson's, tacos and fried peach from Dark Shark food truck, a fish sandwich at Shabazz Seafood, and deep-fried chicken pot pie at Treylor Park.
- "Las Vegas" – Features ube French toast and spam fries at Truffles N Bacon Café, whole fried rainbow trout at The Black Sheep, and a "Whale Burger" at Slater's 50/50.
- "Baltimore" – Includes fried crab stuffed dumplings, fried pork belly burger, crab sandwich, and assorted fried foods at various local establishments.
- "San Diego" – Features dry-aged rib eye steak at Cow by Bear, chicken and waffles at Rhythm's, and deep-fried Oreos at Chicken Charlie's Fair Stand.
- "Denver" – Includes Rocky Mountain oysters at Buckhorn Exchange, green chilli cheese fries, and nacho fried macaroni and cheese at Biker Jim's Gourmet Dogs.
- "Birmingham" – Features pig candy, Thai sticky ribs, Southern fried chicken, fish and chips, and loaded potatoes.
- "Cleveland" – Includes "Fleetwood Mac and Cheese" from Smokin' Rock N' Roll food truck, cheesesteak at Fahrenheit, and pierogies at Mom's Pierogies.
Production
The series was produced by Ugly Brother Studios. The first season was filmed between July and August 2020. Filming locations included St. Louis, Savannah, Las Vegas, Baltimore, San Diego, Denver, Birmingham (Alabama), and Cleveland.

The series premiered on Netflix on June 9, 2021. It consists of one season with eight episodes, each running approximately 24 minutes.
Reception
Critical reception was mixed. Joel Keller of Decider found the show "just too heavy on shtick to be enjoyable." M. N. Miller of Ready Steady Cut awarded the show 2.5 out of 5 stars, criticizing it as "reheated entertainment" that "doesn't offer anything new to the genre."
