Fred Wampler (politician)

Fred Wampler (born July 2, 1909, died May 1, 1998) was an American politician who served as a U.S. Representative from Indiana.

Born in Spencer, Indiana, Wampler attended Indiana University. He was a businessman before entering politics. He served as a member of the Indiana State Senate from 1950 to 1954.

Wampler was elected as a Democrat to the Eighty-sixth Congress (January 3, 1959 – January 3, 1961), representing Indiana's 8th congressional district. He was unsuccessful in his bid for re-election in 1960.

After his term in Congress, Wampler returned to his business interests. He died in Bloomington, Indiana, and was interred in Rose Hill Cemetery, Bloomington.
