Fred Haeseker is a Canadian politician who served as a Member of Parliament (MP) for the electoral district of Yellowhead in Alberta. A member of the Conservative Party of Canada, he represented the riding in the House of Commons from 2011 to 2015.
Early Life and Career Born and raised in Alberta, Haeseker has a background in agriculture, having been involved in farming. Prior to entering federal politics, he worked in the oil and gas industry and owned a trucking company. He also gained experience in municipal politics, serving as a town councillor for Edson, Alberta. Haeseker is an alumnus of the Northern Alberta Institute of Technology (NAIT), where he studied business management.
Federal Politics Haeseker was first elected to the House of Commons in the 2011 federal election, winning the Yellowhead riding for the Conservative Party. During his tenure as an MP, he served on several parliamentary committees, including the Standing Committee on Agriculture and Agri-Food and the Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development. He was defeated in the 2015 federal election by Jim Eglinski, another Conservative candidate who had previously served in municipal politics.
