Facobly Department is a third‑level administrative subdivision of Ivory Coast (Côte d’Ivoire). It is situated within Guémon Region, which is part of the first‑level Montagnes District.
Creation and status
The department was established by decree in 2012, resulting from the division of the former Kouibly Department. Its creation was part of a broader reorganisation of Ivory Coast’s subnational administration that increased the number of departments nationwide.
Administrative centre
The departmental seat is the town of Facobly, which also serves as one of the department’s sub‑prefectures.

Facobly Department is divided into four sub‑prefectures:
- Facobly
- Guézon
- Mangouin
- Zégban
Population and area
According to the 2021 national census, the department had a population of roughly 84,000 inhabitants. Its total land area is estimated at about 1,500 km², giving it a low to moderate population density relative to other departments in the region.
Geography and economy
The department lies in the western part of Ivory Coast, characterized by a mix of forested terrain and agricultural land. The local economy is primarily based on subsistence farming, cocoa production, and small‑scale trade centered in the departmental capital.
Governance
As with other departments in Ivory Coast, Facobly is administered by a prefect appointed by the national government. The prefect oversees local implementation of national policies, coordination of public services, and liaison with the regional authorities of Guémon.
