The company was founded in 1946 by Cy Weller as Frozen Food Express. In 2013, FFE Transportation Services was acquired by a subsidiary of the Duff Brothers Capital Group, which also owns KLLM Transport Services. This acquisition integrated FFE into one of the largest temperature-controlled logistics networks in the United States.
