In Manhattan, it operates as an express service, bypassing many local stations to provide a faster connection to destinations further down the line.
During late nights in Queens, the F terminates at Parsons Boulevard, and passengers must transfer to shuttle buses to reach the 179th Street terminal.
The F train runs on the IND Queens Boulevard Line in Queens, the IND Sixth Avenue Line in Manhattan, and the IND Culver Line in Brooklyn.
