Everett J. Murphy (1907 – December 25, 1989) was an American lawyer and Democratic politician from Massachusetts. He is best known for his service in the Massachusetts House of Representatives and on the Boston City Council.
Born in 1907, Murphy was a lifelong resident of South Boston, Massachusetts. He pursued a career in law, qualifying as an attorney. His entry into public service began in local government when he was elected to the Boston City Council, where he served from 1938 to 1941.
Following his term on the City Council, Murphy successfully ran for a seat in the Massachusetts House of Representatives. He represented the 13th Suffolk District, encompassing parts of South Boston, from 1941 to 1947. During his time as a state legislator, he was involved in the legislative affairs of Massachusetts during the World War II era and its immediate aftermath.
Everett J. Murphy passed away on December 25, 1989, at the age of 82.
