Eurosat

Eurosat is a prominent indoor roller coaster located at Europa-Park, a theme park in Rust, Baden-Württemberg, Germany. Opened in 1989, it is one of the park's signature attractions, recognized by its distinctive large geodesic dome structure that houses the entire ride.

The roller coaster was manufactured by Mack Rides, a company closely associated with Europa-Park's ownership. The ride is enclosed within the spherical dome, creating a dark ride experience with a space exploration theme. Guests board trains that ascend a spiral lift hill inside the sphere, passing cosmic decorations and lighting effects, before descending through a series of drops, turns, and helixes in relative darkness, simulating a journey through space. The ride concludes with a final helix that exits the main ride area.

Eurosat underwent a significant refurbishment and retheming project from 2018 to 2020. While the core "Eurosat" ride experience and its space theme were retained, the ride building was redeveloped to incorporate additional experiences. A separate entrance and queue system were introduced for "Eurosat – CanCan Coaster," which features a new Paris-themed preshow and queue, leading to the same coaster track but with a different narrative inspired by the Moulin Rouge. Additionally, "Eurosat Coastiality" was introduced, offering a virtual reality (VR) experience that utilizes the same track but with specialized trains and a distinct storyline, providing an alternative ride experience within the same attraction structure.

Despite the introduction of new themes and experiences, the iconic geodesic dome remains a central landmark of Europa-Park's French themed area. Eurosat continues to be a popular attraction, known for its unique indoor setting and the varying ride experiences it now offers.
