Euro Truck Simulator

Euro Truck Simulator is a vehicle simulation game developed and published by SCS Software. Released in 2008, it is the initial installment in the Euro Truck Simulator series. The game focuses on the transport of various goods across a simplified map of Europe using semi-trailer trucks.

The gameplay requires players to navigate a network of roads connecting major European cities in countries such as Germany, France, Italy, and Spain. Players start the game by selecting a home base and purchasing a truck. By completing deliveries within specified timeframes and without damaging the cargo, players earn currency and experience points. These resources are used to upgrade vehicle components, purchase new trucks, and pay for fuel, tolls, and maintenance.

The simulation incorporates several realistic elements, including traffic laws, fuel consumption, and driver fatigue mechanics. Players must manage their "sleep" meter by stopping at designated rest areas to avoid penalties or accidents caused by the driver falling asleep at the wheel. While the original 2008 game featured truck designs based on real European models, it did not initially hold official licenses for all vehicle brands.

In 2012, SCS Software released a sequel, Euro Truck Simulator 2. The second installment introduced a more detailed map, an improved physics engine, and a robust business management system where players can hire AI drivers and manage a fleet of trucks. The sequel has received significant long-term support through various map expansions and licensed vehicle updates, maintaining a consistent presence in the simulation genre.
