Authority
The specific authority for Eulimella nana is listed in taxonomic databases such as the World Register of Marine Species (WoRMS); the original description was published in the late 19th century (exact author and year vary among sources).

Description
Eulimella nana is a minute marine gastropod belonging to the pyrams and their allies (family Pyramidellidae). Shells are typically small (generally less than 5 mm in length), slender, and conical with numerous whorls. The surface is smooth or bears faint growth lines, lacking prominent sculpture. The aperture is oval, and the columella bears a subtle fold characteristic of many pyramidellids. As with other members of the genus, the animal is ectoparasitic, feeding on the bodily fluids of other invertebrates, often polychaetes or other mollusks.

Distribution and Habitat
Recorded occurrences of Eulimella nana are primarily within the northeastern Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea. Specimens have been collected from sandy to muddy substrates at depths ranging from the intertidal zone down to about 200 m. Exact range limits are still being refined due to the species’ small size and similarity to congeners.

Ecology
Like other pyramidellid snails, E. nana is a micromollusk that parasitizes host organisms by inserting a proboscis to extract fluids. Its life cycle, reproductive habits, and specific host preferences are not extensively documented, reflecting the general paucity of ecological data for many small marine gastropods.

Conservation Status
No assessment has been made for Eulimella nana on the IUCN Red List. The species is not known to be under specific threat, but the lack of comprehensive population data precludes a definitive status.
