Early Life and Junior Career
Moreau was born on September 22, 1975, in Huntsville, Ontario. He played his junior hockey career in the Ontario Hockey League (OHL) with the Niagara Falls Thunder and the Sudbury Wolves. Moreau made his NHL debut with the Chicago Blackhawks during the 1995–96 season. He spent four full seasons with the Blackhawks, establishing himself as a reliable grinder and penalty killer.Edmonton Oilers (1999–2010)
In March 1999, Moreau was traded to the Edmonton Oilers as part of a package for Boris Mironov. He quickly became a fan favorite in Edmonton due to his hard work, shot-blocking, and willingness to drop the gloves. He was an integral part of the Oilers team that reached the Stanley Cup Finals in 2006, where they lost to the Carolina Hurricanes in seven games.On October 2, 2007, Moreau was named the 12th captain in Oilers franchise history, a role he held until he was traded in 2010. During his tenure as captain, he was respected for his commitment and leadership despite the team's struggles.
Columbus Blue Jackets (2010–2011)
After 11 seasons with the Oilers, Moreau was traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets in June 2010. He played one season with the Blue Jackets, continuing his role as a veteran presence and physical forward.Los Angeles Kings (2011–2012)
Moreau signed with the Los Angeles Kings for the 2011–12 season.
