Ermsdorf

Ermsdorf (Luxembourgish: Ermsdref) is a village in the north‑eastern part of the Grand Duchy of Luxembourg. It is situated in the canton of Diekirch, which lies within the former district of Diekirch.

Administrative history
Until 1 January 2012, Ermsdorf was an independent commune. On that date it merged with the neighboring former commune of Medernach to create the new commune of Vallée de l'Ernz. Consequently, Ermsdorf now functions as a constituent locality of the Vallée de l'Ernz commune.

Geography
The village is located in a rural, hilly landscape typical of the Luxembourgish Ardennes. It lies close to the banks of the Ernz River, a tributary of the Moselle, and is accessible via the N5 national road, which connects it to larger towns such as Diekirch and Ettelbrück.

Demographics
