Erik Barnes (born October 23, 1991) is an American professional golfer. He played collegiate golf at Texas A&M University, where he was a three‑time All‑American and contributed to the Aggies' 2013 NCAA team championship. Barnes turned professional in 2014 and initially competed on the PGA Tour Latinoamérica and the Web.com Tour (now the Korn Ferry Tour).
During the 2015 season, Barnes secured his first professional victory at the Panama Championship on the Web.com Tour. His performance that year earned him a promotion to the PGA Tour for the 2015‑2016 season. While on the PGA Tour, Barnes has recorded several top‑25 finishes, including a tied‑24th place at the 2016 Valero Texas Open and a tied‑26th place at the 2018 The Open Championship.
Barnes is known for his consistent ball‑striking and a smooth, controlled swing. Off the course, he is involved in charitable initiatives related to youth golf development and frequently participates in community outreach programs in his native Texas.
As of 2024, Barnes continues to compete primarily on the Korn Ferry Tour, striving to regain full PGA Tour status.
