Ericpol

Ericpol was a prominent Polish information technology and telecommunications software company. Founded in 1991 by Jan Erlicki and headquartered in Łódź, Poland, the firm established itself as a significant provider of outsourcing and software development services, particularly within the telecommunications sector.

For over two decades, Ericpol maintained a strategic partnership with the Swedish multinational networking and telecommunications company Ericsson. It operated as one of Ericsson's largest external suppliers, providing engineering services and software development for radio access networks, core networks, and support systems. At its peak, the company employed over 2,000 workers across various locations, including offices in Poland (Łódź, Kraków, and Warsaw), Belarus, and Ukraine.

The company's operations extended beyond telecommunications into sectors such as machine-to-machine (M2M) communication, the Internet of Things (IoT), healthcare, and automotive systems.

In late 2015, Ericsson announced its intention to acquire the software business of Ericpol in Poland and Ukraine. The acquisition was finalized in early 2016, leading to the integration of Ericpol’s operations and workforce into Ericsson’s global organization. The move was intended to secure key software development competence and strengthen Ericsson's research and development capabilities in the region.
