Eric Ventom

Eric Ventom (born 29 October 1947) is an English former professional footballer who played as a forward or winger. He is primarily known for his career with Crystal Palace in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

Ventom began his professional career with Crystal Palace, joining the club in 1965 after being a youth player at Charlton Athletic. He made his senior debut for Crystal Palace during the 1966–67 season. A fast and skillful winger, Ventom became an integral part of the Crystal Palace squad that achieved promotion to the First Division (then the top tier of English football) at the end of the 1968–69 season. He continued to be a regular starter for the team during their initial seasons in the First Division, making notable contributions.

After making over 100 appearances and scoring 15 goals in all competitions for Crystal Palace, Ventom returned to Charlton Athletic in 1972. He later had a spell with non-league club Folkestone Town before concluding his professional playing career.
