Erdal Tosun

Erdal Tosun (9 April 1963 – 30 November 2016) was a Turkish actor known for his work in theatre, film, and television. He appeared in over 40 films and numerous television series during a career that spanned more than three decades.

Early life and education
Born in Istanbul, Turkey, Tosun was the son of actor Necdet Tosun and the older brother of actor Gürdal Tosun. He completed his secondary education at Beyoğlu Fındıklı Lisesi and graduated from Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University in 1982, where he studied performing arts.

Career
Tosun began his professional career as a stage actor, collaborating with prominent playwrights and directors such as Murathan Mungan, Yılmaz Erdoğan, and participating in adaptations of works by Woody Allen. He made his film debut in 1983 with Mine, directed by Atıf Yılmaz.

In 1995, Tosun married İlknur Tosun; the couple divorced in 2015 after two decades of marriage. They had one daughter, Zeynep Kiraz Tosun, born in 1996.

Death
On 30 November 2016, Tosun was killed in a traffic collision in Istanbul. He was buried at Zincirlikuyu Cemetery alongside his father and brother.
