Emerald Island is an extended play (EP) by Dutch singer‑songwriter Caro Emerald, released through Grandmono Records on 6 March 2017. The EP was issued to coincide with the commencement of Emerald’s largest concert tour, the Emerald Island Tour. Production was handled by David Schreurs and Jan van Wieringen; songwriting credits include Schreurs, Vincent DeGiorgio and Guy Chambers. Musically, the record draws inspiration from the exotica genre that was popular in the 1950s and 1960s.
Background
Following the commercial success of her debut album The Shocking Miss Emerald (2013), Caro Emerald recorded a short collection of new material intended to complement her live performances. The EP’s title references both the artist’s stage name and the concurrent tour, positioning the release as a thematic bridge between studio work and concert repertoire.
