Political Career
Emeka Onowu has been active in Nigerian politics, primarily within Abia State. Prior to his election to the State House of Assembly, he was associated with the People's Democratic Party (PDP). He later defected to the Labour Party (LP) to contest in the 2023 general elections.In the 2023 Nigerian general elections, Onowu successfully contested for and won the Umuahia South constituency seat in the Abia State House of Assembly. He assumed office in June 2023, becoming part of the 8th Abia State House of Assembly. His victory contributed to the Labour Party's presence in the state legislature.
As a legislator, he represents the interests of the people of Umuahia South constituency in the state's legislative processes.
