Eliran Atar

Eliran Atar (Hebrew: אלירן עטר; born 17 February 1987) is an Israeli professional footballer who plays as a forward or winger. He is known for his technical ability, dribbling skills, and powerful long-range shots.

Early Life and Career

Atar was born in Rishon LeZion, Israel, and began his football career in the youth ranks of local clubs. He spent time at Maccabi Tel Aviv's youth academy before moving to Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv's youth system, where he eventually made his senior debut.

Club Career

Bnei Yehuda

Atar started his senior career with Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv in the Israeli Premier League. He quickly established himself as a talented forward, showcasing his goal-scoring prowess and ability to create chances. His performances at Bnei Yehuda caught the attention of bigger clubs.

Maccabi Tel Aviv

In 2010, Atar joined Maccabi Tel Aviv, one of Israel's most prominent clubs. He became a key player for Maccabi, contributing significantly to their success. During his tenure, he helped the club win the Israeli Premier League title in the 2012–13 season, ending a decade-long drought for the club. He was often among the top scorers in the league during this period.

Stade Reims

Following his successful spell at Maccabi Tel Aviv, Atar moved to Europe, joining French Ligue 1 side Stade Reims in the summer of 2013. He spent one season in France, making a number of appearances for the club before returning to Israel.

Return to Maccabi Tel Aviv

Atar returned to Maccabi Tel Aviv in 2014, continuing his strong connection with the club. He contributed to further domestic successes, including another Israeli Premier League title and an Israeli State Cup.

Maccabi Haifa

In 2016, Atar moved to Maccabi Haifa, another major Israeli club. He continued to be a prolific scorer and an influential figure, leading the attack for the "Greens." He spent several seasons with Maccabi Haifa, where he was a consistent goal threat and a fan favorite.

Beitar Jerusalem

In 2020, Atar signed with Beitar Jerusalem, where he continued his career in the Israeli Premier League, adding his experience and scoring ability to the team.

Later Career

Following his stint at Beitar Jerusalem, Atar played for other Israeli clubs, including Bnei Sakhnin and Hapoel Hadera, continuing to demonstrate his long-standing career in Israeli football.

International Career

Atar has represented Israel at various youth levels. He made his senior debut for the Israel national team in 2012 and has since earned several caps, representing his country in World Cup and European Championship qualifiers.
