Elfriede Kuzmany

Kuzmany made her professional debut in 1934 at the Stadttheater in Teplitz-Schönau (now Teplice, Czech Republic). Her early career saw her perform in various theaters across German-speaking territories, including the Lessingtheater in Berlin and the Deutsches Theater in Prague.

In 1948, Kuzmany joined the prestigious Burgtheater in Vienna, an institution with which her name would become synonymous. She remained a steadfast member of the Burgtheater ensemble until her death, becoming an honorary member in 1995. Over her long career at the Burgtheater, she excelled in a wide range of roles, encompassing classical and modern drama.
