Elena Vodorezova

Elena Vodorezova is a former Soviet figure skater, born on October 3, 1960, in Moscow, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union. She competed during the 1970s and early 1980s and is recognized as one of the first female skaters to successfully land a triple jump in competition. Vodorezova won the 1977 European Figure Skating Championships silver medal and placed fourth at the 1977 and 1980 World Championships. She also competed in the 1980 Winter Olympics, where she placed fifth. Due to injuries and political circumstances, she never won a World or European title, despite being considered a top contender during her competitive years.

After retiring from amateur competition, she performed in ice shows and later transitioned into coaching and skating commentary in Russia. Vodorezova is known for her elegant style and technical innovations during an era of evolving standards in women's figure skating.
