El Lencero Airport

El Lencero Airport (IATA: JAL, ICAO: MMZA) is an airport located in Emiliano Zapata, Veracruz, Mexico, serving the city of Xalapa, the capital of the state of Veracruz. It is also commonly known as Xalapa Airport.

The airport is operated by Aeropuertos y Servicios Auxiliares (ASA), a state-owned company of Mexico that manages several regional airports throughout the country. It primarily handles general aviation traffic and has historically offered limited regional commercial flights, though services can be intermittent depending on demand and airline operations.

El Lencero Airport features a single asphalt runway (09/27) and a small terminal building capable of handling regional passenger traffic. Its strategic location serves as an air gateway for the Xalapa metropolitan area and the surrounding central region of Veracruz. Due to its size and infrastructure, it mainly supports short-haul flights and private aircraft operations, rather than major national or international commercial routes.
