El Hadaik District

El Hadaik District (Arabic: دائرة الحدائق) is an administrative district (daïra) in Skikda Province, northeastern Algeria. It is situated on the Mediterranean coast and takes its name from its district seat, the town of El Hadaik.

Geography
The district lies at approximately 36°49′32″ North latitude and 6°53′18″ East longitude. It covers a total area of 271.75 km² (104.92 sq mi).

Demographics
According to the 1998 census, El Hadaik District had a total population of 23,605, yielding a population density of about 86.9 inhabitants per km² (224.97 sq mi).

Administrative Subdivision
El Hadaik District is subdivided into three municipalities (communes):

  1. El Hadaik – the district seat.
  2. Aïn Zouit
  3. Bouchtata

Government
The district is administered by a district chief; as of the latest available information, the chief is Mr. Abbas Abdelghani.
