Eduardo C. Robreno (born October 14, 1945) is a retired American jurist who served as a United States District Judge of the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania. He was appointed to the federal bench by President George H.W. Bush in 1992 and assumed senior status in 2007, serving in that capacity until his retirement in 2023.
Early Life and Education
Born in Havana, Cuba, Robreno immigrated to the United States with his family in 1960. He earned his Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree from the University of Miami in 1967. He then pursued legal studies, receiving his Juris Doctor (J.D.) from Rutgers School of Law – Camden in 1978.
Career
Before his judicial appointment, Judge Robreno had a diverse legal career:
- Private Practice: He worked in private legal practice from 1978 to 1981.
- Public Defender: From 1981 to 1986, he served as an Assistant Federal Public Defender for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania.

- September 11th Victim Compensation Fund: He played a critical role in the administration of the September 11th Victim Compensation Fund of 2001, overseeing hundreds of claims and appeals related to the terrorist attacks.
