He attended Long Beach Polytechnic High School, where he quickly emerged as one of the top pitching prospects in the nation. During his high school career, he garnered significant attention for his fastball, which consistently sat in the mid-90s mph and touched 98 mph, along with a promising slider and changeup. He was widely recognized for his athleticism and projectable frame, standing 6 feet 6 inches (1.98 m) tall. Stewart initially committed to play college baseball at Mississippi State University.

Professional Career Stewart entered the 2024 MLB Draft as one of the top prospects, praised for his high upside and advanced pitching arsenal for his age. On July 14, 2024, he was drafted by the Baltimore Orioles with the fourth overall pick, making him one of the highest-drafted high school pitchers in recent history. Upon signing, he is expected to begin his professional career within the Orioles' minor league system.

Playing Style Stewart is known for his potent three-pitch mix. His primary weapon is a powerful four-seam fastball. He complements this with a sharp slider that generates swing-and-misses and a developing changeup. Scouts often praise his clean mechanics, control, and ability to command the strike zone, especially considering his large frame and young age.
