Dwayne Yunker

Dwayne Yunker is an American Republican politician currently serving as the state representative for District 3 in the Oregon House of Representatives. He assumed office on December 27, 2023, after being appointed by the Josephine County Commission to replace Lily Morgan.

Background and Military Service Yunker enlisted in the U.S. Navy during his junior year at Hidden Valley High School in Grants Pass, Oregon. He later served over a decade on active duty in the United States Marine Corps as an infantry Marine and Drill Instructor. After leaving the Marines to become a full-time father, he joined the Army National Guard, serving an additional 11 years. He holds a degree in business administration from Excelsior College.

Political Career Prior to his state legislative role, Yunker served on the Grants Pass City Council. He is a real estate principal broker by profession. In the 2024 general election, he won his seat with 66.6% of the vote (23,618 votes), defeating Democratic candidate Mark Seligman. He is running for re-election in 2026.

Committees and Policy Positions Yunker serves on the following committees: Economic Development, Small Business, and Trade; Higher Education and Workforce Development; and Ways and Means: Education. He describes himself as a conservative who supports limited government, Second Amendment rights, pro-life policies, parental rights in education, and lower taxes. He has been endorsed by organizations including the Oregon Firearms Federation, Oregon Right to Life PAC, the Taxpayers Association of Oregon, and the Coalition of Police & Sheriffs.

Personal Life Yunker and his wife Gina, a fifth-grade teacher, have four children and reside in Grants Pass, Oregon.
