Dwayne Douglas Johnson (born May 2, 1972) is an American actor, producer, former professional wrestler, and former American football player. He is known for his work in both television and film, as well as his tenure in the World Wrestling Federation/Entertainment (WWF/WWE) under the ring name "The Rock."
Early life and education
Johnson was born in Hayward, California. His father, Rocky Johnson, was a professional wrestler, and his maternal grandfather, Peter Maivia, was also a wrestler, giving Johnson a multigenerational wrestling background.
